Cookies policy

What are cookies?

Cookies are small widely used files or devices that are installed on the user’s browser in order to store, retrieve or update data. They enable a website administrator to record the user’s preferences when browsing the website and customise the services offered based on those preferences.

On www.torreiberdrola.es we use own and third-party cookies for usage analysis and measurement purposes to make sure that our websites are working properly and enable us to improve our services.

The third-party cookies we use on Torre Iberdrola to obtain information on visits, measure and analyse browsing habits on the website, and customise some services are owned by Google Analytics, Google, Google Maps and YouTube. Both Torre Iberdrola and Google Analytics, Google, Google Maps and YouTube have access to the data collected by the devices owned by the latter.

Types of cookies

Depending on their purpose, cookies can be:

  • Technical cookies:: these are needed for browsing. Without them the website would not work properly (“user input” cookies for online shopping carts, multimedia player session cookies, etc.).
  • Customisation or configuration cookies:: these enable the web page to recognise the user’s language, the font size, etc.
  • Security cookies: these prevent or hinder attacks against the website or its users.
  • Analysis cookies: these enable user activity to be measured and browsing statistics to be compiled.
  • Advertising cookies: these manage the frequency and content of the ads.
  • Behavioural advertising cookies:: these store information on the users to display customised advertising.

Controlling the use of cookies

If you would like to delete the cookies that are already installed on your terminal, you can do so from your browser. You will find instructions on how to do so in your browser’s help menu, where the steps for deleting them are explained. For further information:

Third-party cookies

These cookies are created and managed by third parties, i.e. they establish domains other than the website being visited. (Various cookies perform different functions):

APISID, HSID, PREF and SID: For example, YouTube and Google use this type of cookies to load the video configuration and the history and to display the user’s recent activity, collecting information on their browsing habits when they access the web page using their account. They are also used to measure activity (through statistics) when there are several users on the website. (They only identify the users directly if they have logged in with their account on the browser.)

NID, SNID, khcookie and PREF: These cookies are used by Google Maps to enable the website’s users to identify the locations they are looking for. They have a duration of 6 months.

PREF, NID, SID: Google uses these cookies to be able to customise the ads displayed by its services, for example, to remind us of our most recent searches, of our interactions, of our visits to an advertiser’s website, etc. This enables customised ads to be displayed on Google, since our preferences and other information have already been stored.

OGPC: This cookie is used by Google to provide services and extract anonymous information on the user’s browsing. It has a duration of 1 month.
